Our guide with tips for Amsterdam.

Favorites
Welcome to our carefully curated list of the best recommendations from our team!
When it comes to exploring a new city or town, no one knows it better than the locals. That’s why we asked our colleagues – guides, reception staff, and even the team at our garage – to share their favorite places to visit!
We focused on places located near Yellow Bike, within walking distance from our location at Nieuwezijds Kolk.
This list is still short and new, so keep an eye on it or add it to your favorites as we continue to enrich and update it!
For Breakfast
Gebroeders Niemeyer – “A rather discreet bakery on Nieuwedijk, which also supplies bread to many renowned restaurants in the city. Their croissants are excellent, and they offer a very affordable breakfast in the morning. If you love French pastries, this is a must-visit!” – Tip from Berit
Best Sandwich to Go
Caldi e Freddi – “Italian, quick sandwiches with great value for money, it’s a fantastic spot for a takeaway sandwich! Located on Spuistraat, this place is very popular, so expect long lines at lunchtime. Best to go before or after noon. That’s the only downside!” – Tip from Luca
Restaurants We Keep Returning To…
Bistrot Neuf – “A French bistro located near the central station, on Haarlemmerstraat. A place that serves excellent dishes in an intimate and warm setting. Plus, the service is very friendly!” – Tip from Berit
Best Bars
In de Wildeman – “A real craft beer bar, very popular with locals, located on Kolksteeg, just a few meters from Yellow Bike. They were experts long before the recent craft beer trend. No music, just good conversation. And feel free to check out the Mooij café across the street, a traditional brewery.” – Tip from Berit and Guido
Art and Entertainment
Vrijpaleis – “A community of niche artists and creators, a free space right behind the Royal Palace on Dam. A unique place for experiments and exhibitions. Right next door, you’ll find a beer shop, de Bierkoning, which is also worth a visit!” – Tip from Guido
