‘For over 33 years we have been doing what we are good at: providing people with a pleasant day with our quality bicycles and friendly staff!’ – Guido van Diepen, director of Yellow Bike.
In 1990, Yellow Bike was the very first company in the world to provide guided tours of a city by bicycle.
Now, 34 years later, the new generation is running the company, we are just as happy to introduce you to the beauty of Amsterdam. We will give our tours a new twist! But friendliness, quality and fun remain the most important to us.
Guides
Our guides live or study in Amsterdam and are happy to show you the special places in our city. We tell you a lot about the history, but of course we also inform you about the latest news, the best hotspots, restaurants and shops.
Garage hosts
They are the ones who welcome you and make sure the tour leaves on time. We also make sure that the comfortable, Dutch bicycles from Yellow Bike are in tip top condition when you go into town with them.
The office
If you call or app Yellow Bike with a question about a reservation, for example, you will get us on the line. Of course, you can also always send an email. We will do our utmost to help you as best we can. If you have a special request, we will of course try to accommodate you. Hope to see you soon!

History
Since its foundation in 1990, Yellow Bike has seen some remarkable actions. We will make a step-by-step overview of them!
2015: Yellow Backie
In 2015, Yellow Bike introduced the Yellow Backie. An initiative that ignites the love between Amsterdammers and tourists by using a typical Dutch habit: riding on the back of a bike with a friend.
2023: Sunflower Seed Campaign
In the spring of 2023, every customer received a bag of sunflowers. You could plant these sunflower seeds of organic origin as you wish. Who knows, you might return to Amsterdam and find your own sunflowers there? Or let us know the location, and we will go looking for you. The campaign will continue in 2024.
2023: Bicycle wreck Christmas tree
In the heart of Amsterdam, where residents and entrepreneurs struggle with nuisance caused by garbage and bicycle wrecks, an unconventional Christmas tree appeared on Wednesday, December 20, 2023, that is not only festive, but also addresses an urgent problem. The business association of the Nieuwezijds Voorburgwal, and Spuistraat Noord, of which Yellow Bike is actively affiliated, has decided in collaboration with the Vrij Paleis to use bicycle wrecks as building material for a Christmas tree on the Nieuwezijds Kolk.
